In this capsule, the teacher is seen using the pair work strategy in a primary classroom. She uses this strategy for students to      think about the story they have just discussed and how pair work benefits peer learning.

6. Effective use of a TLM in GPS: Domain 2
A teaching learning material (TLM) is any material apart from the textbook, that is used in the classroom as an effective tool for teaching and interpreting a concept both for the teacher and the learner. It makes learning contextual and active. A classroom should ideally have different types of TLMs, as different children respond differently to varied materials

A well managed classroom is one in which the teacher is able to focus on teaching and learning and students know what to do. Classroom management helps the students and teachers to agree on rules and procedures that are helpful for their classroom.

 


9. How to make a lesson plan: Domain 2
A step by step break down of how to make a lesson plan helps the teacher contextualise the lesson to the needs of their class. In this capsule, the questions to be asked while making a lesson plan is explained in detail.
