State Level Science Drama Competition Festival – 24th to 27th September 2018

State Council of Educational Research & Training, Alto-Porvorim in collaboration with Nehru Science centre, Mumbai and Goa Science Centre, Miramar organised a Science Drama Festival at the State Level for the school students maximum 8 actors from Std. VI to Std X.  

The State Level Science Drama contest was held for four days from 24th to 27th September 2018 at Goa Science Centre, Marine Highways, Miramar and Mary Immaculate Girls High school Panaji, from 10.00 a.m. to 5. 30 p.m.

The theme / topic of the Drama: Science & Society and the Sub-themes: – 1. Digital India,2. Cleanness, Health & Hygiene,3. Green & Clean Energy, 4. Environment Conservation. The judges for the competition were Mr. Venkatesh S. Naik, Director, School of Drama, Kala Academy, Panaji, Goa and a well known theatre artist. Mr. Ajay Jog a well known film maker & theatre artist and Mr. Vijaykumar Verenkar a well known science teacher. Result of the State Level Science Drama festival 2018-19 was as follows

 FIRST PRIZE:       “Mujhe Haq Hai” presented by the students of  Bhatikar Model High School, Margao, Goa

SECOND PRIZE:  “Paryavaran Bachao Sukh Badhao” presented by students of A.J.de Almeida High SchoolPonda, Goa.

 THIRD PRIZE:   “Saim Saad” presented by the students of                           Govt High School, Morlem,Sattari, Goa.   

BEST DIRECTOR:  Mr. Santosh Shetkar of Bhatikar Model High School, Margao, Goa for the play “Muje Hak Hai”

BEST SCRIPT: Mast Angad Yatish Prabhu Sawkar of A.J.de    Almeida     High School Ponda, Goa for the play “Paryavaran Bachao Sukh Badhao”.

BEST ACTOR: Mast Somdatta Gaonkar for the role of Tatya in the play “Saim Saad” presented by Govt High School Morlem, Sattari, Goa.

BEST ACTRESS: Miss. Youga Sambhari for the role of Narrator in the play “Mujhe Haq Hai” presented by Bhatikar Model High School, Margao, Goa.

This year the response for the competition was overwhelming, 54 schools participated in the competition and amongst them 16 were Government Schoolsand 38 Govt aided schools.

The first two teams selected at the State level shall participate for the zonal Level competition, to be held on 28th November 2018 at Nehru Science Centre, Worli, Mumbai.

The State Level Science Drama Festival was a grand success due to the active participation and cooperation of Mr. Nagaraj Honnekeri Director SCERT Prvorim, Goa, Mr.  Venkata Durga Prasad K. State Programme Coordinator Goa Science Centre Miramar, Mr. Bhishi Parab Programme coordinator SCERT, Mr. Vasant Nagarsekar Assistant Programme Coordinator SCERT, Judges along with staff of SCERT, GSC, Teachers, Students and parents.
